ARK were appointed by VISY as preferred contractor for Stage 1 of their $7.5M Alexandria Warehouse Modifications facility project.
This large 8000m2 facility located at 112 Euston Rd Alexandria will change use from a warehouse to a waste or resource management facility. Early 2020, the NSW Government announced it would fast-track planning processes for State Significant Developments – including waste management facilities – to keep the development sector moving through the COVID-19 crisis. This included Visy’s new $23.8 million facility which will have the capacity to process up to 155,000 tonnes of dry kerbside recyclables a year and ARK will be focussed on delivering Stage 1 of the project.
This project was a complete refurbishment of an existing warehouse including roofing, structural steel strengthening to warehouse, new state of the art ventilation system, fire sprinklers and fire protection measures as well as the extension of substructures and concrete works.
It was a complex refurbishment that had many moving parts from numerous heavy machinery on-site at one time, substantial structural remediation and upgrade works and weather delays, however, our team worked hard to ensure key milestones were met and project delivery was achieved meeting programming needs.
